Rima Das donates Rs 1 lakh towards flood relief

GUWAHATI: Amidst the havoc caused by Assam floods over the past few days, Assamese filmmaker Rima Das has donated Rs one lakh to the Chief Minister’s relief fund towards the devastation caused by the flood.   

As per reports, she also urged others to contribute towards flood relief and rehabilitation and said that amount of relief was given by Village Rockstars team.    

Prior to this, ace sprinter from Assam Hima Das too, had donated half of her salary to the flood victims.

Meanwhile the flood situation in Assam continues to severely affect the locals of the state. On July 19, Friday, 11 more people died, taking the death toll to 47, while 48.87 lakh people from 27 of the 33 districts have been affected. 

Rima Das on social media posted stating, "It's really tragic that many people have lost their lives, homes and livelihood due to #AssamFloods. Our #VillageRockstars family has contributed Rs. 1 lakh towards Chief Minister's Assam Relief Fund. We're doing our bit to help #RebuildAssam, request more and more people to contribute to CMO Assam."
