Speaking at an event in Guwahati, Barah emphasised the potential risks associated with such policies, holding pub owners accountable for any unfortunate incidents that may arise as a result.

He highlighted concerns over practices where individuals exploit these offers, stating, "The offers you run, where alcohol is provided for free, sometimes encourage situations where women accompany others just to avail the free drinks. This should not happen. To boost sales, you shouldn’t create policies that allow a man to bring an unfamiliar woman under the pretext of offering free drinks. What if something unfortunate occurs afterward? What will be the consequences? If such incidents take place on the premises of a pub, the owners could also be held legally responsible."

Barah further added that in cases where such incidents occur on the premises of a pub, the owners could face legal consequences. He urged establishments to exercise caution while promoting offers that might encourage misuse or lead to unsafe situations.
