GUWAHATI: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati, implemented the advanced DigiYatra digital entry system on Thursday, November 20, offering a faster and more convenient check-in experience for its passengers.

This technology aligns with the Indian government’s ‘Digital India’ initiative and was initially launched at the airport on August 19, 2023.
This system leverages biometric verification and Aadhaar-linked details to enable seamless terminal entry, which allows airport staff to focus more on core security operations rather than routine checks.
Since the system’s reliance on facial recognition technology diminishes the occurrence of manual errors, there is no longer a need for traditional document verification.
To support the adoption of DigiYatra, specially trained "Digi Buddies" are now assisting passengers in downloading, setting up, and using the DigiYatra app, which is available on Google Play.
