GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident, a significant number of migratory birds were found dead in the Rangsali Dalani area, near the Sixth Addition of Kaziranga National Park, falling under the jurisdiction of the Bargang forest office in the Biswanath division.

Expressing outrage over the incident, authorities denounced the inhumane actions of poachers. The killing of these visiting winter birds has sparked widespread condemnation and concern among conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts.
Following the incident, authorities directed the District Forest Officer (DFO) to apprehend the culprits and initiate legal action against them. In a late-night operation on March 12, three suspects were apprehended by the Assam Forest Department.

The arrested individuals were identified as Dadul Borah alias Khoni, aged 28, from Rangsali Dalani; Basanta Pradhan, aged 35, from Sadhu Basti; and Bubul Saikia, aged 45, from Rangsali Dalani. They were detained for their alleged involvement in the illegal killing of wildlife.
