GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Rs.100 commemorative coin in memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The coin was launched a day before Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
The former prime minister’s birth anniversary is also observed as good governance day. Vajpayee passed away on August 16 in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.

The coin features a portrait of the former prime minister on one side with his birth and death years inscribed below his portrait.
The coin is made of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc.
