GUWAHATI: Assam is set to witness a historic performance of Bagarumba, a traditional Bodo dance, this October 2025. Over 10,000 youth, both men and women, will take part in the event at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the announcement on social media platform X, stating that the event aims to popularise Bagarumba and establish it on the global stage. The large-scale performance will also highlight Bardoisikhla, a significant cultural symbol of the Bodo community.
In February 2025, the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati witnessed a grand cultural spectacle on February 24, as over 8,000 Jhumoir artistes performed in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union and state ministers and ambassadors of several countries at Jhumoir Binandini. The event, a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Assam’s Tea Tribe community, showcased their traditional dance form, Jhumoir, which was also a celebration of 200 years of the tea industry in Assam.
