GUWAHATI: The Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam issued new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for air Passengers on 9th August.

As per the new SOP, "Any air passenger who departs from Assam within 72 hours of arrival need not undergo quarantine."

However, the air passengers have to provide the return ticket and take the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) with negative results.
Symptomatic visitors have to undergo RT-PCR testing even if the RAT result is negative and has to remain in isolation until the test result is declared.

If a visitor exceeds the 72 hours' time frame, he/she will be quarantined and penal action will be taken, states the order.
