Man Stabbed To Death In Baksa, One Injured

 

GUWAHATI: A man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his friend, on April 23.

The murder occurred in Pakhamara village, under the jurisdiction of Barbari police station in Baksa.

The victim, identified as Ramani Baishya, son of Dilip Baishya, was ruthlessly attacked and fatally stabbed with a sharp weapon.

Another individual, Rakesh Lahari, son of Khamene Lahari, also suffered severe injuries during the assault.

Talking to GPlus, a police official from Barbari Police Station said, “Both of the victims went on the pretext of partying with their alleged friends. After a while a scuffle broke out on the road between them and one of the individuals stabbed Ramani, while injuring Rakesh. Ramani Baishya was declared dead when brought to Dr. Ravi Boro Civil Hospital in Baksa. Rakesh Lahari is alive and being tended to his injuries. He has been shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).”

The accused has not yet been apprehended and further investigations are under way.
