According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday night after a heated argument took place between Barman and Junu at her shop. The dispute escalated, leading Barman to push Junu, causing severe injuries. Instead of seeking medical help, he allegedly locked her inside a storage room where she kept her shop materials and damaged her mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

Junu’s lifeless body was discovered earlier today when a foul smell from the storage room alerted locals. Upon inspection, they found her deceased and immediately informed the police. Investigators suspect that the altercation directly led to her death.

Family members of the victim have alleged that Barman, who was in a relationship with Junu, is responsible for the crime. Following his arrest, he also confessed to the murder.

Barman, originally from Sonapur Kolongpar and temporarily residing near the Army Hospital in Basistha, is now in police custody as further investigations continue. Authorities are working to establish the exact sequence of events and determine if additional charges will be filed.

The operation was led by Basistha Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Kapil Pathak.
