GUWAHATI: A 55-year-old man was arrested in the Satgaon locality of Guwahati on Wednesday evening, March 26, for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 14-year-old girl.

The accused, identified as Arobindo Borah, reportedly lured the minor to a secluded area before she managed to escape and inform her family. Acting on the complaint, the Satgaon police swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested Borah, who hails from Rupahi in Nagaon district and was residing as a tenant in Satgaon.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Satgaon police station confirmed, "It is a case of POCSO, and Borah is in judicial custody."
Further legal proceedings are underway.
