GUWAHATI: The police have initiated a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly severed both of his wife's hands at the wrists in Dholai, Cachar.

The incident, which came to light on Friday, August 29, took place in Jamlapur village within the Dholai constituency. The accused has been on the run since the attack. The victim is in critical condition due to significant blood loss. After the assault, neighbours intervened and transported her to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for emergency treatment.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from the Dholai police station said, “We suspect the cause of the attack to be a dispute between the husband and wife. The force is actively looking for the alleged.”
