GUWAHATI: Residents of Guwahati’s Zoo road staged a protest, against the irregular water supply in the area.
Several senior citizens also joined the demonstration and demanded immediate action from the local MLA and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
The demonstrators also alleged that contaminated water is being supplied in their localities and they demanded that the government needs to investigate the matter and accelerate the pace with water supply schemes.

Reportedly, earlier, several apartment complexes at the Zoo Road stretch faced severe water scarcity and were dependent on water tankers.
Due to the shortage, several posh localities had to rely on private water operators to fulfil their daily water requirement.
