The incident came into light after a complaint was lodged by an individual unwilling to comply with the demand.

According to officials, the complainant alleged that Daimary had demanded the bribe in exchange for conducting a field visit related to a land partition case. Refusing to pay, the complainant approached the Directorate, seeking legal action against the accused.

Acting on the complaint, a trap was set on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Bajali Revenue Circle office. The team from the Directorate caught Daimary red-handed as he accepted the bribe from the complainant. The money was recovered from his possession and seized in the presence of independent witnesses.

Following the operation, sufficient evidence was found to arrest Daimary under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. A case has been registered at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police Station under ACB P.S. Case No. 109/2024.

Officials confirmed that further legal proceedings are underway.
