The Joint Committee on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will hear from the representatives of all the organizations/individuals at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara today.
The Committee started its hearing today at Guwahati at 10 am. It will listen to all the organizations and individuals throughout the day and in the evening too.
The organizations/individuals which did not register their names can also come and the committee will hear them too.
There's no fixed number of organizations/individuals for their representation today at Assam Administrative Staff College.
Representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice and State government will be present during the discussions and the committee is expected to have a separate discussion with them later after the organizations and individuals make their representations.
Each organization will be given time slots to make their representations. Only five members from an organization can meet the committee.
It can be mentioned here that the dates for the tour of the Committee was fixed by Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The Joint Committee will hear from the representatives in the afternoon on May 8, 2018 and in the morning on May 9, 2018 at Silchar.
