Special diving team from Vishakhapatnam reach Dikhow to search missing Guwahati family

GUWAHATI: On the request of Assam government and Sivasagar district administration the Indian Navy has sent a 10-member diving team from Visakhapatnam to Sivasagar.

The team is already on the mission at the Dikhow River where a family of five from Guwahati is missing since Saturday 1st September.

Due to the river water being muddy rescue operation is getting delayed. Moreover, the undercurrent being too strong created problems for the earlier operation by the Indian Army team.

On Saturday evening, Haren Bora along with his wife, mother and two daughters were travelling in a Swift Dzire car when the vehicle accidentally fell in the already overflowing Dikhow River and was swept away. Due to darkness immediate rescue operations could not be carried out.
