GUWAHATI: The government of Assam has relaxed its curfew timings in view of the Independence Day celebration across the state.

"In view of celebration of Independence Day, 2020, movement of individuals shall be allowed between 6 AM and 5 PM on August 15, 2020, subject to maintenance of all COVID-19 protocols including social distancing, hand hygiene and wearing of face cover in all public places at all times," states the order issued by chief secretary of the state Kumar Sanjay Krishna.

Earlier today, the chief secretary visited Judges' Field in Guwahati and reviewed the preparedness of Independence Day celebration which is scheduled to be held there on August 15, 2020.
