Two Revenue Officials Apprehended On Bribery Charges In Kamrup

 

GUWAHATI: Two individuals from the Revenue Circle Office were apprehended by the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam, on charges of bribery in Kamrup on April 22.

According to information, Hazarat Ali, the Gaon Pradhan of Khameri Gaon, was caught red-handed after allegedly accepting a bribe at the Office of the Nagarbera Revenue Circle, situated in Kamrup District.

This operation also uncovered Anup Kr. Choudhury, Lot Mandal of the same office, who was colluding with Ali in the act.

Ali and Choudhury, who were demanding bribes for facilitating namjari-related works were apprehended by DVAC in the process.

DVAC took to X to put out, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Hazarat Ali, Gaon Pradhan, Khameri gaon, after he accepted bribe in O/O the Nagarbera Revenue Circle, District-Kamrup, in conspiracy with Anup Kr. Choudhury, Lot Mandal for namjari related works.

In the same trap operation, Anup Kr. Choudhury, Lot Mandal of O/O the Nagarbera Revenue Circle, Dist- Kamrup, has also been apprehended for demanding bribe and accepting it through the Gaon Pradhan, in conspiracy with him.”

Both individuals have been taken into custody and investigations are underway.
