The complaint, addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner dated April 15, 2024, highlights a purported incident of cash distribution during a media interaction event involving Tapan Kumar Gogoi.

Furthermore, the complaint draws attention to the presence of an individual, allegedly involved in the cash distribution, in a photograph alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Bhaben Choudhury, AAP state president, emphasised the importance of upholding the integrity of the electoral process, stating that such actions undermine the sanctity of democracy and pose a threat to the fairness and transparency of elections.

The AAP urges the Chief Election Commissioner to take immediate and necessary action against the BJP, its candidate Tapan Kumar Gogoi, and any other individuals implicated in the alleged violation. They call for a thorough investigation followed by appropriate punitive measures in accordance with the law.
