GUWAHATI: An elephant caused chaos near SBI, Dispur area on Wednesday, June 26, morning, damaging several vehicles.
Without its mahout for an extended period, the tusker became agitated and started damaging parked vehicles.

Talking to GPlus, a forest official explained, "The elephant is in musth, which made it highly agitated and uncontrollable. We received the first report of the incident around 9:30 a.m. Our team, along with zoo officials, monitored the situation closely. By 1:00 p.m., we managed to tranquilise the elephant and bring the situation under control."
"The elephant damaged at least five to six school buses and several other vehicles parked nearby," the official added.

An elephant in musth can be dangerous. During this period, a tusker is extremely aggressive and ferocious. An elephant in musth, most of the time, can attack or charge anyone or anything.
