GUWAHATI: In a recent operation as part of their ongoing battle against drug-related crimes, the Central Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) achieved a major breakthrough.
A team hailing from Pan Bazaar Police Station apprehended an individual identified as Jitumoni Talukdar, a resident of Noonmati, following the recovery of a substantial quantity of illicit substances from his possession.
Talukdar was caught red-handed carrying a bag that contained 109 vials of a substance suspected to be heroin.
Additionally, the suspect had in his possession 78 Sampex capsules, identified as psychotropic drugs.
The law enforcement authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the accused.
The official X account of the Guwahati Police Commissionerate put out a statement, which read, “#WarOnDrugs A CGPD team from Panbazaar PS arrested one Jitumoni Talukdar of Noonmati after he was caught red handed with a bag full of 109 vials of suspected heroin and 78 psychotropic Sampex capsules from his possession. Legal action initiated.“
