Three cars collided at an intersection in the vicinity of the Latasil field, Guwahati. One Tata DI, a city bus and an alto crashed in the wee hours of 23 January.
The DI carrying cattle was allegedly rashly driven which triggered the chain of accidents. "The DI was overspeeding and collided with the city bus. In that mishap, the Alto car coming from the Barowari side crashed in the mishap," said Mumim Choudhury, official at the Latasil Traffic Police department, Guwahati.

The witnesses including boys who were playing cricket indicated that the DI was indeed overspeeding, as per the official.
The three vehicles have been badly damaged along with property destruction after the bus ricocheted off the road. The passengers in the Alto have received injuries but there have been no casualties.
Following the incident, the drivers of both the DI and the city bus escaped from the accident spot. The Traffic Branch of Latasil is investing the matter further.
