Guwahati boy Riyan Parag gets picked by Rajasthan Royals for IPL-2019

GUWAHATI: For the next season of IPL-2019 in the latest auction held on 18 December, well-known youth cricketer from Guwahati, Assam, Riyan Parag has been picked up for Rs. 20 lakh by Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals pick up three players in the third and final round. Manan Vohra (Rs 20 lakh), Ashton Turner (Rs 50 lakh) and Riyan Parag (Rs 20 lakh) all went to the Royals for their base price.

Son of former Ranji player Parag Das and national record holder swimmer Mithu Baruah, Riyan is a hard-hitting batsman and a leg-break bowler who was selected for ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup.

Rajasthan Royals, who won the first ever IPL, have a reputation of selecting young but formidable sides.

IPL 2019 player auction is underway in Jaipur and around 351 players are under the hammer for a maximum available 70 slots.

Yuvraj Singh sold for his base price of Rs 1 crore to Mumbai Indians, after going unsold earlier.

It is to be mentioned that Rajasthan Royals returned to Indian Premier League in 2018 after serving a two-year suspension and finished fourth in the previous edition.
