GUWAHATI: The sudden flood in the Fancy Bazar area last year wreaked havoc to the boundary walls and other structures at the river bank. The general public had to face a lot of inconvenience as the water had inundated the road and almost entered the houses and business premises.
Fearing similar fate the authorities have started repairing the damaged wall and other portions which might have to bear the brunt this year, too.
Workers were seen busy building the boundary wall on the bank of river Brahmaputra, at Fancy Bazar on Monday. This particular wall was partially damaged by the water of flooded Brahmaputra last year.
