Guwahati: 2 Youths From Khetri Die In Road Accident In Khanapara

GUWAHATI: A road accident was reported on Sunday, September 4, in the Khanapara area of Guwahati, where a container truck claimed the lives of two youths travelling to Jorabat. The deceased were identified as Pranjal Sarkar (26), and Monmath Rai (26). They both were residents of Khetri.

The Traffic Incharge of Khanapara Police Outpost told G Plus that Pranjal Sarkar and Monmath Rai were coming from Khanapara towards Jorabat on a motorcycle at around 10.15 PM on Sunday. Their motorcycle slowed down for a while and got hit by a container truck that was also coming from the same direction, the police official said.

The two, Pranjal and Monmath were immediately taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and were declared dead by the doctor.

The driver, Rajen Kumar Giri, is currently in police custody.

The Traffic Incharge of Khanapara Police Outpost told G Plus, "The truck was seized. All the documents of the truck were found correct after verification. The driver was also found in a non-intoxicated state".

The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
