Gunotsav 2024 Targets 35 Assam Districts Encompassing Over 40,000 Schools

GUWAHATI: The extensive scope of Gunotsav 2024 has been unveiled showcasing the enhancement of the quality of education across Assam. This came as per an official report on December 12.

The Gunotsav 2024 initiative will cover a vast number of educational institutions, including 43,498 schools of various categories such as Government, Provincialized, Tea Garden Managed, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), Residential Schools, Adarsha Vidyalayas, and Tea Garden Model Schools.

The initiative aims to assess the educational landscape comprehensively, encompassing 39,63,542 students from classes I to IX across the state. The assessment process will be conducted in multiple phases, totalling 18,098, with specific attention to schools categorised based on their enrollment figures. This includes 250 schools for Individual External Evaluation (IEE), 251 to 499 for the first phase of External Evaluation (2EE), and schools with 500 and above enrolment for the second phase of External Evaluation (3EE), with a 10% reserved allocation.

The scale of Gunotsav 2024 extends to cover all 35 districts of Assam, putting ahead a comprehensive approach to education assessment and improvement. 

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to X to put out, “Gunotsav is transforming the education system at the grassroots. In 2024, the evaluation exercise will be conducted in 43,498 schools covering all the 35 districts of Assam.”
