GUWAHATI: A public awareness rally was held at Guwahati Railway Station on Wednesday, June 26, to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The rally was jointly organised by Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force.
Government Railway Police (GRP) station OC Abhishek Boro said the joint rally was organised to create awareness of drugs.

Boro said, “Through this programme, it is possible to awaken the public to the effect of drugs on the younger generation. Ten-fifteen years ago, intoxicants were not used that much, but now their use has started increasing, and this is the reason why dangerous diseases like AIDS are prevalent in society.”
