Former Rajya Sabha MP Santiuse Kujur Quits Congress

GUWAHATI: Former Rajya Sabha member Santiuse Kujur resigned from the Congress party on August 10.

Kujur had written in his resignation letter, “With Regret I would like to inform that I am tendering my resignation from the party with immediate effect and this purely my personal decision. I have worked in the Congress party for more than 13 years and I have been pleased to be a part of the leading political party.” He also wished for the party’s “bright future” and hoped that the party will help in changing the country for better.

It is to be mentioned that Kujur’s tenure as the MP of Rajya Sabha ended in the month of June 2019.

Earlier today, veteran Congress leader from Barak Valley Gautam Roy has resigned from the party and is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
