Guwahati: Today Is The Last Day To Pay Your Property Tax

 

GUWAHATI: Today is the last day to pay your Property Tax to avoid penalties and attachment of their property.

Failure to pay property taxes on time may also result in the delinking of their holding number from the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL).

The property taxes can be paid online on the gmcpropertytax.com website or at the nearest Guwahati Municipal Corporation revenue field office or customer care centres.

To pay your property tax online, you need to visit the gmcpropertytax.com website and follow five simple steps.

1) Click on ‘Click here to pay your Property Tax’ link on the www.gmcpropertytax.com website

2) Provide your holding number to fetch all corresponding data.

3) Select which month's property tax you would like to pay or select all unpaid months at once, as per choice

4) Click on ‘Pay Now’ to display the final bill and press ‘Confirm’ to be redirected to the payment gateway

5). After successfully making a payment, a payment reference number will be generated. You can click on ‘Download Money Receipt’ to keep it in your record.

You can also visit the gmcpropertytax.com website to generate your holding number, to link your Holding number to your APDCL consumer number, or for check your property tax application status.

Additionally, to ensure a seamless experience for taxpayers, the GMC began a drive of door-to-door collection of property taxes last month, and special War Rooms have also been set up to clear any doubts that citizens may have regarding the process.

Under the door-to-door collection of property tax initiative, a total of 195 women from local self-help groups (SHGs) have been appointed as ‘Poura Sakhis’, who will personally visit people’s houses to collect property taxes with POS machines to make the process of property tax payment hassle-free for taxpayers.

Furthermore, a special War Room Camp has been set up at the GMC Office in Uzan Bazar to eradicate any confusion faced by taxpayers. The GMC War Room camp will remain open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the 3rd floor of the GMC Office in Uzan Bazar, while a special set of numbers have also been provided that citizens can call to clear their doubts or for any additional information.
