WRNE Emerges Victorious In Under-19 Cricket Tournament In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: In a thrilling finale at the 9th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial 50-over under-19 inter-organisation cricket tournament in Guwahati, We R North East (WRNE) secured a resounding victory over ACA Cricket Academy by 5 wickets. Despite losing the toss, ACA Cricket Academy managed to set a competitive target of 172 runs, led by Pranab Gogoi's impressive 40 runs.

However, WRNE displayed remarkable resilience as they successfully chased down the target in 43 overs, with Diwiz Pathak showcasing exceptional batting prowess with an unbeaten 69 runs. Pathak's stellar performance earned him the coveted ‘man of the match’ title, further solidifying his impact on the game.

The closing ceremony also saw the recognition of outstanding individual performances, with players from various teams receiving accolades. Sujad Islam from Goalpara CA, Prasanta Barman from ANA Cricket Academy, Viral Bishnoi from GTC, Chitrantan Khatoniar from Rhinoland CA, Manas Gupta from Ankurjyoti Club, and Mrinmoy Das from New Star were hailed as promising talents.

Furthermore, Varun Jajodia from Ankurjyoti Club was honoured as the best wicket keeper, while Pathak's exceptional batting skills earned him the title of best batsman. Mohit Thakur from ACA Cricket Academy was recognised as the best bowler, showcasing his bowling prowess throughout the tournament. Additionally, Dyutimoy Nath from ACA Cricket Academy was celebrated as the best fielder for his exceptional contributions on the field.
