GUWAHATI: One person died and another was injured when a speeding truck rammed into a stationary truck undergoing repairs late at night on Sunday, April, 27 near the Lokhra flyover on on NH-27.

An official from the Gorchuk police station while speaking to GPlus said, "The incident took place at around 11:30 PM when a stationary truck was undergoing repairs. A truck coming from behind lost control and crashed into the stationary truck leading to the death of the handyman of the parked truck. The driver of the other truck sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment. Efforts are underway to ascertain the identities of both the deceased and the injured, as their names and addresses are yet to be confirmed.”
This is not the first time that such incidents have occurred in the national highway number 27. Earlier too, such fatal accidents have occurred, giving rise to a question of road safety on the highway.
