Missing Minor Girl Rescued By Guwahati’s Noonmati Police

 

GUWAHATI: The Child and Gender Protection Desk (CGPD) team from Noonmati Police Station rescued a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing from her legal guardian's residence in Bapuji Nagar, on Sunday, April 27. The operation led to the recovery of the minor within just six hours of the report being filed.

A senior police officer from the Noonmati Police Station said, ”we  received a distress call early in the day from the guardian of the missing girl, who reported her disappearance under concerning circumstances. Recognising the gravity of the situation, the CGPD team immediately launched a coordinated search operation. Leveraging local intelligence, technical surveillance, and ground-level inquiries, the team traced the minor's whereabouts within a few hours.”

"The effort by our team ensured that precious time was not lost," said another official from the Noonmati PS. "Our priority was to ensure the girl's safety and bring her back home without any harm. After a meticulous search, the girl was located and safely brought back to the police station, where she underwent a routine medical check-up and counseling session before being reunited with her family. Police have assured that further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, and necessary measures will be taken to prevent any recurrence.”, said the officer

The Assam Police has  appealed to the public to immediately report any case of missing persons, emphasising that timely reporting can significantly improve the chances of a safe recovery.
