GUWAHATI: Upasa Phukan, daughter of former Assam Home Minister Bhrigu Kumar Phukan, passed away after reportedly falling from a high-rise building in Kharguli, Guwahati, on Sunday, March 30. The incident occurred around 8 am.

According to an official from Latasil police station, preliminary investigations suggest that it was a case of suicide. "She was going through some depression," the official told GPlus.
Upasa Phukan was the only child of the late Bhrigu Phukan. Her body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination.
