Five Developmental Projects Worth ₹114 Crore Inaugurated In Jagiroad

 

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a series of development projects valued at ₹114 crore in the Jagiroad constituency on December 24. 

Joined by Cabinet Minister and Jagiroad MLA Pijush Hazarika, CM Sarma unveiled the projects during a massive rally held in Jagiroad town. The inaugurated projects encompass a rail foot overbridge worth ₹85.96 crore, a waterfront development project valued at ₹9.56 crore, a PWD inspection building costing ₹9.5 crore, a permanent office building for the Jagiroad Development Authority priced at ₹1.95 crore, and a 750-seater multi-purpose auditorium amounting to ₹7.20 crore.

CM Sarma, addressing the gathering, highlighted the transformative impact of the new projects, including the rail overbridge, cycle track, beautification of the Taranga Beel lake banks, PWD inspection building, a permanent building for the Jagiroad Development Authority, and a 750-seater auditorium. Additionally, a digital LED billboard for the Janasanyog department has been installed.as per reports.

CM Sarma also reportedly hinted at an upcoming major investment announcement for the Jagiroad constituency. He expressed optimism that the anticipated development wave would not only transform the face of the constituency but also impact the entire middle Assam region positively.

During his address, the Assam CM announced a ₹50 crore scheme for the development of Jagiroad town's drainage system. He further revealed plans for a new fire brigade centre in Jagiroad and expressed hope that the inauguration of the Morigaon Medical College in the Jagiroad constituency would be possible in the next couple of years.
