An organisation named 'Jagok Aru Jogaok' has filed an FIR against the India Today Group in connection with the recent controversial sex survey which stated that 86% of Guwahatians engage in sex with their colleagues during office hours.
The survey went viral on the internet after one Kaushik Deka's open letter with the headline 'Guwahati: When Work Is Passion' was published in the India Today Group. According to the write up, the result of the survey was deduced from a sample size of 27% of city's total respondants.
The survey has stirred massive anger among the citizens of Guwahati, who claimed the survey to be a 'bogus' and 'misleading' one.
In connection with the survey and the write up, one Abhijit Sharma, on behalf of the organisation 'Jagok Aru Jogaok' on Monday has filed an FIR against the Editor-in-Chief of the India Today Group, at Bhangagarh Police Station.
The organisation in the FIR alleged that it's a conspiracy to defame the rich culture of Guwahati and Assam at large. The organisation has also demanded the ban of India Today Group in the region.
Speaking to G Plus, sources at Bhangagarh Police Station said that they have managed to get a copy of India Today edition where the survey was published. Police has registered a case against the organisation and is investigating the matter.
In connection with the entire controversy, six working women of the city held a LIVE discussion with Kaushik Deka on Monday night, whose write up has raised several eyebrows in the entire city.
Women activist and popular writer of the city Akashitora Saikia, who was one of the panelist during the LIVE discussion stated that the writer's methods of survey is questionable. She further added that in last night's LIVE talk show, the writer utterly failed to defend his point.
