GUWAHATI: A major forest fire broke out near the refinery hospital in Noonmati on the evening of April 22, prompting a swift response from multiple fire and emergency services (F&ESS) units. The Chandmari F&ESS received the call at 8:11 p.m. and dispatched their first turnout vehicle a minute later. The first team returned at 12:30 a.m. on April 23 after successfully containing the fire.

The blaze at Noonmati required the combined efforts of Chandmari, Dispur, and Guwahati F&ESS units. The station officer at Chandmari F&ESS stated that the fire was large and required coordination with other departments to bring it under control.

In a separate incident earlier today, a fire broke out at Fancy Bazar around 6:55 a.m. Three fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and the flames were successfully controlled. The cause of this fire is still unknown, and the fire department will release a detailed report later.
