These actions also aim to facilitate unobstructed passage for emergency vehicles.

The outlined restrictions on vehicle movement are as follows:

1. Commercial goods carrying vehicles are prohibited from NH-17 within Guwahati City, as well as on DG Road, MG Road, B. Barooah Road, GNB Road, and GS Road from 3 PM to 10 PM on April 16.

3. From 3 PM onwards on April 16, all ASTC and Private City buses are to follow regulated routes from LGBI Airport to Khanapara via specified roads.

4. Starting from 4.00 PM onwards, vehicles on both sides of the stretch from ABC Point to Assam Legislative Assembly Rotary along GS Road will be directed to use a single track. Furthermore, vehicular traffic will be entirely prohibited in this area from 6.00 PM onwards.

5. These restrictions will not impede the movement of emergency vehicles such as Fire Tenders, Ambulances, and vehicles transporting life-saving drugs or oxygen cylinders. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of VIP movements, designated diversion points have been identified by the Guwahati Traffic Police. These points include various locations like Jalukbari Point, Maligaon Gate 3, and others.
