GUWAHATI: The District Transport Office of Kamrup Metro has directed that all vehicle owners and transport operators must pay their outstanding dues in current and arrear taxes by March 31, 2023. The date has been earmarked as the last day for payment of outstanding vehicle taxes. Those failing to do so will have to pay a fine for each day of delay and a penalty of up to ₹10,000 or their vehicles will be seized.
The DTO has sought the timely payment of current and arrear road tax due on commercial vehicles and the remaining 10 years of road tax for personalised vehicles where only 5 years of road tax has been paid at the time of purchase.
