GUWAHATI: Devotees from far and wide gathered at the revered Kamakhya Temple on Monday as the main door of the temple reopened, marking the end of the Nivritti ceremonies conducted during the Ambubachi Mela.
The highly anticipated Ambubachi Mela, a four-day festival, commenced on June 22, attracting a multitude of devotees.
Following the Pravritti rituals, the main door of the temple remained closed for three days and three nights, with the scheduled reopening taking place on June 26.
Devotees patiently lined up on the temple premises, eagerly awaiting their turn to offer prayers.
On the morning of Monday, amidst an atmosphere filled with anticipation, the historic temple's main door was opened after the Nivritti ceremony.
It is worth mentioning that this year, the VIP system for Darshan was discontinued after the reopening of the gates, allowing all devotees to visit the revered Goddess Kamakhya through the general devotee line.
