GUWAHATI: A Cyber Police Station team recovered ₹57,000 and credited it back to the account of a victim from Lalganesh, who lost ₹1,52,000 in an online scam on Telegram. The recovery was made on Saturday, March 29.
According to officials, the victim was targeted by fraudsters on the messaging platform and ended up losing a sum of money.
Following a complaint, the cyber team launched an investigation and managed to recover part of the money. Efforts are still underway to retrieve the remaining amount.
Authorities have asked people to report any suspicious activities by calling the cybercrime helpline at 1930.
