GUWAHATI: In five testing labs of Assam, a total of 1529 Covid-19 tests have so far been conducted.
Out of these, 1308 samples have been tested negative, 25 positive and the results of 196 are awaited.
Among the 1308 people tested, 812 were in connection with the Nizamuddin Markaz.
It should be stated that out of the 25 positive patients of Assam, 24 had attended the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz.
The state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told media that Nizamuddin Markaz is still an evolving story and the exact number of people who attended the same is still unknown.
He urged the people who attended the Markaz to come forward for the tests and also asked all district and state authorities of the Nizamuddin Markaz to give the list of the travellers to authorities.
