GUWAHATI: In an all party-meeting called by the Prime Minister on June 19, PM Narendra Modi said that China has not been able to capture any land from the Indian Territory.

The meeting was called to discuss the clash with Chinese forces in Ladakh. The faceoff between the two countries saw 20 Indian and 43 casualties on the Chinese side.

Talking on the issue two days after the incident, the Prime Minister wanted to assure that the sacrifice of Indian soldiers would not go in vain and show everybody that despite India being a peaceful country, it is capable of giving befitting replies when triggered.

As per reports, this is the first violent incident since 1975 where such deaths have been reported on both sides of the border in a face-off between the two countries. Indian soldiers were assaulted with iron rods and clubs wrapped in barbed wire laced with nails in the fight with the Chinese.

China firmly opposes India’s construction of a key road near the Pangong Tso Lake and construction of another road which connects Darbuk-Shayok-Daulat Beg Oldie road in Galwan Valley.
