Centre To Set Up Visa Processing Facilities In The Northeast Soon

GUWAHATI: The Centre will facilitate visa processing centres in the northeastern region for people who want to travel outside the country, informed Union External Affairs Minister, V Muraleedharan on Sunday, July 28.

“Called on Shri @sarbanandsonwal ji, Hon’ble CM of Assam. Discussed ease of foreign travel for the people of Assam. Assured MEA’s wholehearted support for Assam Government’s initiatives under ‘Act East Policy’. @narendramodi @PMOIndia @AmitShah @DrSJaishankar @MEAIndia @VMBJP,” wrote V Muraleedhran on Twitter. 

At present, the northeastern region only has visa processing services for Bhutan and Bangladesh. The countries for which visa processing services will be available in the region have yet to be announced.
