CAB Row: AASU Stages Massive Protests after Cabinet Clears Bill

GUWAHATI: All Assam Students Union launched protests all across the state after the union cabinet cleared the Citizenship Amendment Bill on Wednesday, November 04.

The Dibrugarh unit of the student wing protested by burning tyres and raising slogans against the bill.

Meanwhile, the Naharkatia unit also protested on Wendnesday night.

In Guwahati, effigies of AGP’s Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta and Phani Bhushan Choudhury, were hanged in the front of MLA Naren Sonowal’s house.

The protestors also hanged effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, FM Himanta Biswa Sarma to show their outrage against the clearance of the bill.

 The Majuli unit of AASU burnt effigies and blocked roads for one hour.

AASU stated that they will not accept CAB under any circumstance and will protest until the govt scraps it.
