Brahmaputra rising

Water level of the Brahmaputra along the city has risen to dangerous levels on account of heavy rainfall at many places in upper Assam and Central Assam in recent days, creating panic within the people. Officials of Kamrup (M) District administration said that water level along Fancy Bazaar, Bhootnath and other many areas along the bank of river Brahmaputra has crossed the danger mark. The DC of Kamrup (M) has suspended the services of ferry and boat across the river, between the city and North Guwahati.
