Bogibeel Bridge should be named ‘Bishnu-Jyoti Bridge’: ULFA (I) Chief Paresh Baruah

GUWAHATI: The banned ULFA (I) outfit leader, Paresh Baruah has made a statement saying the Bogibeel Bridge should me named after Bishnu Prasad Rabha and Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, two eminent personalities from Assam, thus naming the bridge Bishnu-Jyoti Bridge.

The ULFA (I) Chief while speaking to News 18 said that the entire state should support this idea and India's longest Rail-cum-road bridge should be named after the legendary literary luminaries from Assam.

It is to be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the bridge on 25th December.

Bishnu Prasad Rabha was a well-known cult figure from Assam, known for his literary and cultural contributions towards the indigenous Assamese communities. Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was a noted Assamese playwright, songwriter, poet, writer, and filmmaker from Assam. He was an Assamese cultural icon, deeply revered for his creative vision and output and is popularly called the Rupkonwar of Assamese culture.
