Assam’s first water ATM inaugurated

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday inaugurated the state’s first water ATM in Dibrugarh with the objective to provide safe and portable drinking water at an affordable cost.

 

Inaugurating the ATM at the Kadomoni Water Supply Scheme campus, Sonowal said that people will now be able to avail the facility of safe drinking water which meets the standards of World Health Organisation. People can now buy 20 litres of RO water by paying Rs 10 and ATM cards will be provided to avail the facility.

 

 

Sonowal also launched an education programme ‘Lakshya’ at the Chowkidinghee playground which aims to improve the quality of education. The aim of the programme is to make learning an interesting process, improve students’ attendance, setting up digital classrooms on pilot basis, involve the contribution of parents and guardians in developing the child’s education, improve the child’s education by making them understand the concepts as against memorizing, motivate them to set goals, and improve overall performance in the important examinations of their education life.
