Assam Cabinet Minister Ranoj Pegu confirmed the sighting on Monday, July 2, attributing the tiger's presence to the recent floods in Kaziranga National Park, which have likely driven the big cat from its natural habitat. The unexpected appearance of the tiger, far from its usual territory in Kaziranga, underscores the impact of Assam's seasonal floods on wildlife.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its significant population of tigers, has been heavily affected by rising water levels, prompting animals to seek higher ground. In response to the sighting, people have been alerted and the district administration has ramped up vigilance in the area.
