Assam: 37 New Dialysis Centers To Be Constructed To Aid Kidney Patients

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved the establishment of 37 new Hemo-Dialysis Centers across the state, during the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, July 3. This decision has been undertaken to provide affordable and high-quality dialysis services to patients suffering from kidney ailments

The new centers will be equipped with 150 additional hemodialysis machines and will operate in a public-private partnership (PPP) mode with support from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partners. This expansion focuses on enhancing the accessibility and quality of dialysis care for kidney patients in Assam.

Currently, the state government operates 41 centers with 277 hemodialysis machines, which facilitated 2,21,116 free dialysis sessions in the fiscal year 2023-24. The addition of these new centers is expected to significantly boost the capacity and reach of dialysis services in the region, providing much-needed relief to many patients.
