GUWAHATI: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) announced the State team for the domestic first-class cricket championship ‘Ranji Trophy’ on Friday. Interestingly, fast bowler, Abu Nechim did not find a place in the squad which has raised a controversy.
Moreover, in an earlier development, right-handed fast bowler Krishna Das was dropped from the team, who then got inducted in the Kerala team through professional quota.
The 2018–19 ‘Ranji Trophy’ is scheduled to be the 85th season of the ‘Ranji Trophy’, the premier first-class cricket tournament to be held from November 1 to February 2019.

The tournament will have four groups, with 9 teams each in Groups A and B, C, and 10 teams in Group C.
The competition currently has 37 teams, with representation from all the Indian states and two of the seven union territories having at least one representation.
