Assam: Rainfall, Waterlogging Force Schools To Shut Down In Dibrugarh


GUWAHATI: All government/provincialised TG schools, private and central schools (affiliated to CBSE, SEBA) have been closed down from Monday, July 1 in view of heavy rainfall and waterlogging in Dibrugarh district.

The schools will remain closed until further orders.

The order to this effect was issued by Inspector of Schools cum District Elementary Education Officer, Dibrugarh after consultation with Dibrugarh District Commissioner.

Meanwhile, the water level of Brahmaputra River crossed the danger level in Dibrugarh recording 105.78 meters against 105.70 metres on Sunday morning. 
Large swathes of Dibrugarh town were submerged after incessant rainfall over the past few days.
